| Welcome to the Blackhawk Area Railroad Coalition Website! We encourage all interested parties to show their support for our project to return rail service to the upper tier counties of northern Illinois, northeastern Iowa and points beyond. It has been the dedication of public officials, cities and rail enthusiasts in conjuction with our group, the Blackhawk Area Railroad Coalition to return the recreation and economy of mass transit to our communities. We welcome all interested in this goal! We are a 'grass roots' group effort that believes in the great benefit of returning passenger rail service to this region, as are many large and small communities continuing this effort in the United States. We encourage both support and constructive criticism to carry this project forward. Currently, we do not accept donations. It is our purpose to gather action from volunteer efforts and encourage members to get the message out to the proper public authorities and officials via petitions and letters. Welcome aboard our website and thank you for your input! |

Later in the month, BARC attended an informal power point presentation and press opportunity with IDOT and Amtrak officials who highlighted some of the details of passenger rail service. It has been the efforts of Janet Fisher to obtain the crucial signatures on the Letters of Consensus in order to reflect our common goals regarding passenger rail service to our region.
